OVERVIEW

For this project, I developed a comprehensive brand identity and digital presence for dbo, a cinematographer and filmmaker based in Toronto. The brand needed to reflect the client's multi-faceted career spanning studio ownership, cinematography, entrepreneurship, and content creation. I designed a distinctive logo featuring the "dbo" wordmark with a signature red recording dot accent, establishing instant recognition within the film industry.

I crafted a bold visual identity system centered around a dark, cinematic aesthetic with a black textured background, complemented by white typography and strategic red accent elements. The color palette and custom graphic elements—including playful illustrated icons representing cameras, film equipment, and production tools—create a personality that balances technical professionalism with creative approachability.

I structured the website as a narrative journey, organizing content into distinct "Acts" that chronicle the client's evolution from studio owner to cinematographer, entrepreneur, and content creator. This storytelling approach provides clear navigation while showcasing the breadth of the client's work. I developed the site with smooth scrolling interactions, project galleries with hover states, and a responsive layout that maintains visual impact across devices. The site architecture includes dedicated sections for studio projects, cinematography work, the CineHunter platform, and social media content integration, creating a comprehensive portfolio experience that positions the client as a versatile creative professional.
